Tennis and Pickleball

Lots of pickleball being played in Ellsworth. The Moore Senior Center on State Street has a calendar with indoor play (small donation) (but only one court) most days. On nice weather days they play outdoors at the YMCA with 3 courts on Rt 1A - free but you should sign in at the desk. You never know who will show up but it is a welcoming group of all skill levels. The YMCA, I am told, has paddles (and balls?). Wednesday at 5:30 and Saturday at 9 there is outdoor play at the YMCA (no indoor at the Senior Center that day) which might be more competitive. Also being played in Bar Harbor, Belfast, and Hampden. I hear the Bar Harbor is competitive but haven't been there yet - beware of the road closure getting to Bar Harbor this summer (2017)!

Here is a picture

of the Senior Center schedule but I'm not sure which sessions are best attended. I'm told Tues and Thur morning are good, though. I will definitely be checking out the Wed late afternoon and Sat morning sessions at the YMCA, however. Remember, if weather is good, check the YMCA courts first - the Senior Center is less than 1/4 mile away.

Ellsworth High School has courts. Ellsworth Tennis Center has pay-to-play.

I play both pickleball and tennis (and golf) so you can email me for more information.
