Return to Georges Pond home page

It's kind of ironic that after 15 years of coming up to the pond and many of those with the idea to creating this web site, that when I finally did create the site it is in a year that, because of a variety of circumstances, the family and I will be on the pond only a limited number of days. (but with retirement in 2010 that will change!). Nevertheless, I'm glad I've finally overcome inertia and procrastination to get this site out there.

Why a Georges Pond web site? Well, it seems like a good way to communicate with those that live near and far from the pond, to keep everyone up to date on various issues, to provide a central place for information and current events, and it just seems that Georges Pond, which is special to so many of us, deserves a little recognition.

I hope that many of you will visit the site and, most importantly, contribute to it. I hope this site will be beneficial to maintaining and improving the life and joy of Georges Pond.

My family and I first came to the pond by way of our good friends Ted and Marcy Clossen when, for five years, we stayed a week or two at the various Bunker (Brad and Dorothea) cabins. So we are relative newcomers having been coming only since 1987. After a few years of enjoying the pond so much, we starting looking for a camp of our own. One day we were shown the then Muzzy camp and before long we had bought it - tales of buyer's remorse abound but that is a different story! Fresh paint, new shingles and indoor plumbing transformed the camp into what has been described (hopefully humorously) as the "yellow jewel of the pond" although now more weathered.  Well, enough for now. Please get back to the home page, explore, comment, contribute.

    Thanks,
    Brian and Linda Friedmann
